Project 365 Day 234: Intentional Camera Movement

22-08-10 Building on my intentional camera movement experiment of yesterday. I tried to get something a little more abstract today using the same technique. I think this one worked well.

Better on black.

Project 365 Day 202: Rays

21-07-10 Sometimes you look up and your shot for the day is looking right at you. That happened to me about an hour ago. I was coming out of Tesco I looked up and the cloud had a halo. A few snaps later and it was in the bag. Minimal processing on this just a bumping of the blue saturation a little.

Project 365 Day 195: Illegally Parked

14-07-10 I took the grand total of 3 pictures today. There would have been more but there was a massive storm this afternoon and I didn't fancy getting my kit wet. This was the best of the three. I liked the lines and the leaf breaking parking regulations.

Project 365 Day 186: PROOF! In Black & White

05-07-10 My transcript turned up for my final year today. Along with a letter that confirmed my result! That's it now it's all over. My graduation ceremony is not untill November though.

Processed this in Lightroom 3 to add faux film grain and a ridiculous vignette.

Project 365 Day 185: Macca

04-07-10 This is SOOC! Got lucky with the light in this one I think. I was taking some portrait shots of my band and got Laura to look up into the light. I immediately loved the catch lights in her eyes and thought "yeah, thats nice". After getting it into Lightroom I decided it was good enough as it was.

You can't replace good light.

Project 365 Day 173: Bad Ju Ju

22-06-10 Working full time is sapping all the inspiration from my 365 as yesterday's shot was testament too. Today I got home and had no impetus to shoot anything. Then I spotted out new African mask that we picked up from my Wife's mother the weekend before last. There was just enough available light left in the flat to get a decent exposure at ISO 800 and with Lightroom 3's new anti noise algorithms I was able to get a usable shot.

Project 365 Day 104: On The Frets [explored!]

14-04-10 Long day today. Lots of uni work. 3 hour networking lab and a band practice. Have to write my conclusion...

Project 365 Day 98: On The Keys

08-04-10 Again my apologies for not having the time or engergy top posts lot of words. Normal service will resume on or around the beginning of May.

Project 365 Day 83: The Blue Door To Nowhere [Explored!]

24-03-10 I spotted this door a few days ago. Its on the side of a building near my University, about 3 foot off the ground. What caught my eye though is the plaque above the door. I have no idea why it is there but it is pretty cool! The building itself has no roof and behind that door looks to be on the verge of collapse. I processed this with the wonderful cross processing tools in Colour Efex Pro and that was all.

Project 365 Day 82: Call Of The Wild [explored!]

23-03-10 So my journey into strobism continues. This shot had me really scratching my head I knew what I wanted to achieve but I wasn't sure how to but after playing around with the lighting and a little bit of post production I was happy with the result.

Strobist...
YN-460 II @ 1/2 power | Amber Gel | beneath the table shooing at the rear wall
YN-460 II @ 1/2 power | Red Gel | Camera Right aimed at ceiling
ISO 100 | 1/160 | f8 | 50mm
Triggered by Cactus v4s

I was very happy with the colours the strobes had created but the elephant wasn't in shadow enough so I boosted the black levels in Lightroom which gave me a crisp silhouette, then reduced the saturation till I had the colours back. This strobist thing is fun! It also means I can shoot whenever I like and not have to worry about the light. Not sure this lens has been at f8 before!

Again today I had an idea for a shot and then went and took it. I usually stumble across what I photograph. This 365 is pushing me in the right direction I feel.
